As part of our topic ‘Holidays,’ we listened to the story ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. We talked about the places the snail and whale visited. The children enjoyed stretching, squashing and moulding the (snail) slime. We created snails using wax crayons, CDs, paint and buttons.
The children have enjoyed PE activities linked to the seaside theme. This included going on an adventure in a speed boat (hoop), moving at different speeds and in different directions and taking care not to crash intothe islands! We also used the parachute for making waves and pretending to swim and paddle in the sea and for a pirate treasure game.
